PURE HONOR: DEZ CARTER vs ADAM MAYHEM

Adam Mayhem with a swift kick to Dez Carter's gut to start the contest off, grabs Carter's wrist to Irish Whip him--halted, Carter turns around, wringing Mayhem's arm, and returns the kick in the gut. Dropkick takes Mayhem down. A quick pincover by Carter, easily foiled by Mayhem who sticks his shoulder up and chains it into a headlock. Mayhem pulls his opponent to standing, gives the headlock a little TORQUE, then grabs Carter's tights with the other arm as he sets up for a--well, whatever it was, it would have been great. Carter hooks his opponent's leg and stops himself from being lifted, then a swift, legal elbow to the ribs jostles himself free of the Mayhem's hold. Dez Carter wastes no time retaliating and throws a roundhouse kick to Mayhem's mid--CAUGHT by the Glamour Boy. Mayhem has Carter's leg caught and smiles, pulling him back and forcing him to keep hopping on one leg--Carter's had enough, ENZIGU--SPINEBUSTER!! Adam Mayehem quickly countering and Carter's shoulders are on the mat. ONE! TWO! KICK OUT! Mayhem rises to his knees, smirking, and then leers at the winsome Asuka Katsuragai while choking out her client. BLATANTLY. The referee strips Mayhem of his first rope break and Mayhem abruptly switches to a frustrated glare to the ref. Renewing his attention on Carter, he picks him up to drape his arm around his neck, lifting to a Vertical Suplex, NO, GOURDBUSTER! It's Dez versus canvas and the canvas wins, coldly, impassionately. A perfectly-executed fist drop plugs Carter in the face and costs Mayhem his second rope break. Mayhem winces--he's clearly still getting used to the Pure Honour format.Pounding the mat, he picks Carter up once again, and Irish Whips him--hard--into the corner turnbuckle. Following right behind, it's DEZ DODGING ADAM'S CHARGE AS HE COLLIDES STERNUM-FIRST INTO THE TURNBUCKLE! And Carter follows up with--THE DRAGON SUPLEX! Katsuragai cheers WILDLY as Dez Carter puts himself BACK in this match!

Dez Carter's feeling KICKY--he runs past a rising Adam Mayhem with a run-by kick that'd make Samoa Joe proud. Mayhem staggers to his feet again--Kitchen Sink by Carter ends him toppling. Mayhem, dazed, returns to his feet if only by instinct--LEG LARIAT by Dez Carter topples him in no time flat. Dez Carter hooks the leg--ONE! TWO! SHOULDER UP! "Pin him BETTER, you dummy!" yells Katsuragai. Carter looks at her and resignedly sighs. He's got his own ideas, though, and seating Mayhem up, he's got the inverted facelock cinched, he's got the knee in the back, he's even fot the far leg hooked--it's STRETCH PLUM TIME! Mayhem's entire body tenses up as this painful hold is applied, and with his one free leg, makes a play for the ropes, which are just a few inches away. Carter pours on the pressure as the ref watches Mayhem's foot, eagle-eyed, as it inches closer and closer to Mayhem's last rope break--WAIT A MINUTE! Mayhem's just jabbed both of his THUMBS into Carter's EYES, the ref looking ELSEWHERE! Carter immediately relinquishes the hold to cover his eyes, howling like a lunatic. The ref SUSPECTS there's something up, but before questions can be asked, Mayhem runs behind his opponent and rebounds off the ropes--DIVING! CLOTHESLINE! TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! Adam Mayhem nails Dez Carter, like, WHAMMO! Katsuragai SHRIEKS as Carter seemingly flops DEAD on the mat, and Adam Mayhem going for the cover . . .

. . . damn the torpedoes, Katsuragai's diving in. Hopping onto the ring apron and causing a ruckus, she starts yelling at the referee about Mayhem CHEATING in a PURE HONOUR match. Adam Mayhem's got the leg hooked with a solid pin--and the ref can't count it because he's too busy arguing with Dez Carter's manager! The Glamour Boy stands and heads for the apron, seemingly inent on taking matters into his own hands when the ref puts his foot down and ejects Asuka Katsuragai from ringside, and costs her client a rope break. The crowd BOOS this decision, though Asuka, feeling the heat, shame-facedly relents and starts slinking up the ramp to the exit. Mayhem pats the ref on the back for a decision well-made and turns around--DEZ CARTER! SSSSPPEEEEEEAAAAAARRR!!! Desperation take-down from the frantic Carter, who's mounted Mayhem and is pelting him with . . . PALM STRIKES! Sweet, legal PALM STRIKES! Mayhem's getting so many open hand shots that it sounds like applause. Carter rolls off, ROARS, and pulls Mayhem up--KNIFE-HAND CHOP stuns Carter as Mayhem gets his Pure Honour groove. Adam Mayhem whips Dez Carter into the corner, he's going to try it again--CLOTHESLINE! Smashing Carter when he's got NOWHERE to fall! Carter staggers out of the corner, dazed, while Mayhem slinks up the turnbuckle behind him, following up with--HOLD THE PHONE! DEZ CARTER! OUT OF NOWHERE! OUT OF INSTINCT! Latches an Inverted Fireman's Carry onto the elevated Mayhem--OVERDRIVE! And COLLAPSES on top of Mayhem! That's the count--ONE! TWO! THREE! DEZ CARTER PULLED IT OUT, SOMEBODY WAKE HIM UP AND TELL HIM!

With Larc En Ciel hitting the sound system, Asuka BOLTS back to the ring to help drag her client away from a recovering Adam Mayhem. Walking him back up the ramp, all smiles, she hoists his hand up in victory as he slowly comes to. In the ring, Mayhem stands at the ropes, glaring daggers at the sudden crowd favourites, and he grabs the ropes, violently trembling.

Adam Mayhem lets out a scream.

And then the ringposts explode.

Four blasts of flame, each one of them jetting from the ringposts, burn the very cheer out of the air as the crowd panics. After a few seconds, the fire subsdes, leaving scorched ringposts, a crowd out of breath, two VERY stunned youngsters on the ramp looking into the ring, and an INTENSE-looking Adam Mayhem glaring at the two and silently muttering under his breath.

THE CRUSHER vs MR. SLICK

Crusher ROARS into the ring and takes down Mr. Slick before the bell can even sound! He hammers on Mr. Slick with INTENSITY, by gawd, finally getting off the Slickster and roaring to the crowd. Pick-up, irish whip, WHAM. The Crusher catches Slick with a scintillating Samoan Drop, cover gets TWO. Crusher picks up Slick, suplex...making him think about it! All the blood rushes to Slick's head before Crusher falls backwards to the canvas, bouncing Slick's 262 pounds off the canvas. Crusher gets up, what's this? He's going to the corner, crouching down and calling for Slick to "GET UP, GET UP!" Crowd is on their feet, they know what's coming next! Mr. Slick gets to his feet, turns around, and SPEAR SPEAR SPEAR--- NO!

Mr. Slick dives out of the way, and that means Crusher impacts shoulder-first into the ring post. Crusher sags to the canvas, chin resting on the bottom turnbuckle. Mr. Slick can pick up the pieces here! He charges in with a running knee to the back of Crusher's head. Pick-up by Slick, he puts Crusher on the top rope and climbs after him. Slick hooks the man from behind, but Crusher is fighting back. They're throwing fists on the top rope --- Slick jams his thumb into Crusher's eye to stop that flurry, hooks him, and NAILS a Back Superplex! Crusher is down, Mr. Slick makes the cover for ONE, TWO, TH--- kick out! Mr. Slick argues the count with the referee, insisting that it was a three count. Referee John Sharplin stands his ground. Mr. Slick snarls and turns back to Crusher. Slugfest ensues! Slick pounds Crusher into the corner. He sends him out, smashing across the ring --- then catches a staggering Crusher with a wild backbreaker! That's gotta hurt, and that's gotta be all as Slick covers for one, two, KICK OUT.

Mr. Slick pulls Crusher up and spins a finger in the air, the classic signal for the feared DDT. In this particular case, it's a HARD DDT. Slick hoists Crusher up, hooks the front face-lock --- Crusher starts firing right hands into Slick's exposed ribs. Slick releases the hold, then turns around and storms back RIGHT into a boot to the gut! CRUSHER hits his own DDT, makes a tired cover for ... TWO AND A HALF. Slick gets a shoulder up! Both men are down, and the crowd is behind Crusher, chanting "LET'S GO CRUSHER, LET'S GO". With the claps. You know the one. Alas, it is Mr. Slick who is the first man up, and he throws a right hand --- BLOCKED by Crusher! Crusher returns fire! Slick fires, blocked, Crusher fires back! Again, same result, and now Crusher is !unloading! with right hands on Mr. Slick! He backs the Slick one into the ropes, fires him off --- SPINNING POWERSLAM with AUTHORITY. By Gawd, Slick was PLANTED... and now Crusher once again takes his corner, calling for it! He slaps his head to clear the cobwebs, waiting for Mr. Slick to slowly take his feet... Crusher charges! Slick sees it at the last second... and can do NOTHING.

SPEAR SPEAR SPEAR

Crusher COVERS, this is over, hold on just a minute! It's TIM from Mr. Slick's interviews on NAPW.ca all week long, he's on the ring apron trying to come into the ring... and distracting the referee from making the count! Crusher slaps the mat three times, then gets up with a furious look on his face. He shoves Sharplin out of the way, grabs Tim by the scruff and POPS him. The body hits the ring canvas, then the concrete. Sharplin leans out of the ropes yelling for Tim to stay the hell out of it WAIT A MINUTE! MR. SLICK --- just threw some kind of white powder into Crusher's eyes! Crusher is blinded, HARD DDT! Mr. Slick just nailed Crusher with that Hard DDT after blinding him with powder! Sharplin didn't see any of it! He turns around, Slick hooks a leg for ONE, TWO, THREE!

Mr. Slick rolls out of the ring, an evil grin on his face as he backs up the aisle. Tim meets up with him, nursing his jaw! Mr. Slick just stole a big win from The Crusher here on Action!

DEXTRO vs PROMO

Calgary is buzzing as "My Damnation" begins to serenade the audience. It will be everyones first look at the man known as Promo. The masked man enters and the crowd cheers a little. You have to earn the NAPW fans approval. Rehab belts out "My Addiction" and out comes Dextro "The Meth Orphan." A mixed reaction, but mostly boos as he gets into the ring. John Sharplin is the referee. The bell sounds and the match begins. They go nose to nose and punches begin to fly. The match has just started and it seems like it's a plain fight. Promo gets the best of Dextro and has him on the ground. Dextro rolls out of the ring, but Promo follows. John Sharplin begins the standard ten count. Promo kicks Dextro in the stomach and- NO, DON"T DO IT...CRADLE PILEDRIVER ON THE FLOOR. Dextro is limp. John Sharplin is stunned and the count has stopped. The crowd let's out a "HE'S HARDCORE" chant. The move was devastating, and to most men it would be over. But Dextro's head isn't all there to begin with. He slowly rises at the dismay of Promo. Promo makes an attempt at a front face lock. It's reversed and NORTHERN LIGHTS ON THE FLOOR. Sharplin is getting caught up in the match. No count is being made. Right now he is just a fan. Promo holds his back but gets up and asks for another. Dextro hit hard too, but tries to give Promo what he wants. Dextro goes for another Northern lights and DDT on the floor. Dextro is out. Promo suckered Dextro in. Promo picks him up and slings him into the guardrail. He finds a chair sitting there. John Sharplin warns him about, momentarily becoming the ref again. Promo sits Dextro in the chair and puts his head against the rail.

Promo moves away and runs full steam. He crushes the head of Dextro with an Ole' Kick. HOLY (BLEEP) chants reign through the arena. Promo thinks it's over and throws the Meth Orphan into the ring. Cover One...Two.. NO!! Too close to the ropes as Dextro somehow gets a foot on the rope. I knew hitting him in the head wouldn't hurt him that bad. Promo is not impressed however. He gets Dextro to his feet and hold on Dextro hits and over head belly to belly... Promo lands outside. He looks dinged up. John goes out to check on him. Dextro in the mean time un does one of the top turnbuckle pads. It's now exposed steel. Promo recovers pretty quickly and gets into the ring. Dextro lays in some heavy punches only to receive some from Promo. We're back to the way the match started. John Sharplin is letting them go. Dextro once again can't match punch for punch with Promo. Promo dropkicks Dextro into the exposed steel. As wrestling scholar Gordon Solie never said: Thee who exposes the steel...EATS THE STEEL! Promo with a stinger splash in the corner. He's calling for lights out and hooks in The Fadeout. Dextro is in a bad way. He is fading fast as the oxygen is cut off. But he is near the corner still, the exposed corner. He is trying to grab the ropes. John raises his left arm once...It drops. A Second time it..DROPS! The third and final check and.. IT WAIT- Dextro falls forward and Promo gets steel in the grill. Dextro rolls him up. One...Two...and Promo...LOSES! THREE it's over. Dextro exits the ring quickly, stealing a victory. Promo gets up slowly as a PROMO chant starts and a standing ovation for the effort.

PURE HONOR: CARTER OWENS vs DURTY DUTCH FLANAGAN

Dutch and Owens shakes hand briefly and the bell sounds to start this Pure Honor contest. Durty Dutch and Carter begin to circle each other slowly, each man searching for an opening. Owens apparently thinks he sees one and comes in low for a double leg, but Durty Dutch sprawls out on him, forcing Carter Owens down to the mat face first. Owens tries to rise and WHAM! Flanagan nails him with a crossface shot with his right arm. Durty Dutch follows up with a second one and Carter drops back down. Flanagan locks in a front facelock to keep Owens grounded, grinding his wrist across the bridge of Carter's nose. Owens struggles and gets to his knees, the weight of Flanagan not enough to keep him on the mat. Flanagan releases the hold with his right arm and slams it across the side of Owens' head with another crossface shot, then locks the hold in tight once more on the staggered wrestler. Carter Owens continues to fight as Dutch Flanagan tries to grind him down with the basic submission, getting almost up to his feet before Durty Dutch pulls back his right arm for another crossface - mistake! Carter Owens wraps his arms around Dutch's waist and bridges backwards with a northern lights suplex! Holding it for the pin... only a two count! Flanagan gets his shoulder up and rolls back to his feet. Owens up as well and he grabs Flanagan in a collar-and-elbow tie-up. The two men struggle and Owens gets the advantage, pushing Durty Dutch slowly back right up until Flanagan lives up to his name and slips a hand free to shove into Carter's face. Owens tries to fight through and then suddenly cries out in pain and staggers back, his hands going to his face. Sharplin's view was obscured, but it looks like Dutch just slipped in a thumb to the eye! Before the ref can react to Carter's obvious pain, Flanagan rushes forward and levels him with a spinning back elbow followed by a quick cover; another two count! Dutch back to his feet and into the ropes to gain some momentum against the larger Carter Owens. Owens to his knees as Dutch flies back with a leaping crossbody block... Owens catches him from his knees! Carter Owens stands up and spins Dutch's legs out to the side - URA-NAGE! The ring shakes with the impact and the crowd chants along with Sharplin's count; One! Two! Thr-Flanagan gets a leg up on the ropes! Sharplin sees it and calls for the break, signaling that Dutch Flanagan has used his first rope break.

Owens stands back up slowly and takes a moment to recover while Dutch is still flat on his back. On the outside Psycho Sarah is pounding the mat, urging Dutch to get back to his feet. Dutch begins to do so slowly and once he is back to a vertical base Carter goes over to greet him with a forearm shiver to the side of the head. Owens whips Durty Dutch into the corner and charges in after him. Owens goes in for the low shoulder block but Flanagan gets his feet up and over Owens' back - TARANTULA! Durty Dutch turns and locks in the Tarantula on Carter Owens! Sharplin calls for the rope break immediately and Durty Dutch holds it for a four count before releasing. Owens staggers back out of the corner with one less rope break than when he went in and now Flanagan is sizing him up from the apron. Dutch leaps up to the top rope and as Carter Owens turns the Durty One flies and plants both feet in Owens' face in a picture-perfect missile dropkick! Flanagan going for the pin; no, he isn't done with Owens yet! Dutch Flanagan runs towards the ropes and - ASAI MOONSAULT! NAILS IT from halfway across the ring! Flanagan hooks the leg for the cover; One! Two! Thr-shoulder up! Carter Owens barely escapes a loss by getting a shoulder off the canvas at the last second. Flanagan gets to his feet and delivers a stiff kick to the ribs that rolls Owens over, then another that has Carter Owens practically in the ropes. Flanagan hits the opposite side of the ring and comes back... sommersault followed by a senton that he calls the Roll in the Mud! He lands RIGHT ON CARTER'S KNEES! Owens gets his knees up and Flanagan practically breaks his back across them! Both men are down!

Owens, using the ropes for leverage, slowly gets up and stares at Durty Dutch, who is holding his back and kicking his legs on the mat, face screwed up in pain. That is just a huge target for Carter and he goes immediately to work on it with a stiff kick of his own as Durty Dutch sits up, catching him right in the small of the back. Owens doesn't give Dutch time to recover, lifting him up off the mat and dropping him across one knee with a pendulum backbreaker. Showing impressive strength Owens lifts Flanagan right back up and drops him with a second backbreaker! Carter Owens is relentless, lifting Flanagan right back up and setting him on his shoulder... Carter Owens runs across the ring and slams Flanagan into the turnbuckle, then spins and NAILS a powerslam! Owens with the cover, but only gets two. Carter Owens doesn't seem to mind as he lifts Durty Dutch up and calls for the end to a cheer from the crowd. Owens lifts Durty Dutch up for 11:52, that crucifix powerbomb, and - Psycho Sarah up on the ring apron! She grabs hold of one of Flanagan's boots and pulls, allowing Durty Dutch slide down Owens' back! Dutch Flanagan doesn't hesitate in spinning around and driving an elbow into the back of Carter's head, staggering the bigger man. Carter Owens turns around and Flanagan drops him with a drop toehold right across the middle rope. Flanagan comes back to his feet and sees Sharplin signaling to the announcer for something. Durty Dutch practically tears his hair as the announcement comes across the PA... Durty Dutch Flanagan has been penalized TWO rope breaks for the interference of Psycho Sarah! Sarah screams in rage on the outside as her man goes from two rope breaks right down to none. Flanagan snarls and runs to the ropes, rebounding and coming back at the still downed Owens. Durty Dutch leaps and tries to splash down on Carter's back... Owens rolls off of the ropes and Dutch's legs both shoot between the middle and top rope! Carter Owens pushes down on the middle rope and pulls the bottom up hard, trapping both of Durty Dutch's legs there! Dutch falls over backwards, just his upper back and shoulders on the canvas as Owens stares down at him. Dutch waves his hands, trying to get Sharplin to call Owens off, but he has no rope breaks left in this contest. Carter Owens leaps up and comes down with a big splash right across the face of Durty Dutch Flanagan and holds it for the pin. Flanagan can't kick out and can't force the two-hundred and sixty-five pounds of Carter Owens off of his face as Sharplin counts; One! Two! Three!

TELEVISION TITLE: "THE LEMONDROP KID" LLOYD REES (c) vs MARK CAGE

The referee shows Mark Cage the TV Title belt... cue Lloyd Rees blasting in over Kiebiech's shoulder to nail Mark cage with a cheap shot before the bell. DING DING DING. The bell sounds, but Lloyd Rees is all over Mark Cage. The 247 pound TV Champion with an arm drag take down, choosing to hold Cage in an arm bar for a minute. Cage tries to reverse it, reversed again by Lloyd into a back suplex. That takes Cage down, Lloyd floats over for a one count. The champion wasn't looking to end the match there, just make a point to young Mark Cage. A demonstration that the champion is in control. Lloyd takes up Mark, suplex this time, and now Lloyd going for the Lance Cove Leglock! Mark Cage tries to fight it off. He won't let Lloyd turn him over... so Lloyd releases the cloverleaf and stomps Cage in the abdomen, Bret Hart style. Cage moans, and Lloyd drops an elbow to cover for two. Big grin from Lloyd, again --- he wasn't expecting to win there, but he's sending a message to Mark Cage. Thus far in the contest, the veteran, the champion is in complete control on the rookie.

Lemondrop measures Mark Cage, leaping up for a perfect dropkick to the face of Mark Cage. Mark Cage seems to be completely out of his element in this match. He studied tapes of Lloyd Rees, but so often in NAPW Lloyd Rees chooses to use dirty tactics and illegal moves to win his matches. It's easy to forget that he is a technical high-flyer, and he's using that neglected facet of his arsenal against an unsuspecting challenger. Now what's this? Lloyd Rees sends Mark Cage to the ropes, baaaack body drop --- no! Cage with a swinging neckbreaker to counter! Now's his chance to build some momentum, but he's spending too much time just getting to his feet. Lloyd recovering with every second passing, but Cage hooks his man and delivers a snap suplex. Slow snap suplex, but Cage hooks Lloyd for a second one, this one delivered with the quick, snapping motion that makes it so potent. Cage tries to get an inverted full-nelson, a double-arm underhook almost MMA style. Lloyd Rees drops low and hits a low blow just out of the view of Dick Kiebiech. Mark Cage collapses in pain. Kiebiech admonishes Lloyd Rees, who responds with a cocky grin --- watch out! Rees sprints and leaps up to the top rope... springboard corkscrew! He calls that the Fresh Water Flip, and Mark Cage calls it painful! Cover gets one, two, Cage kicks out. Lloyd Rees says screw it, and tries another cover for one, two. Once more, one, two, but Mark Cage is expending more energy with every kick-out. Lloyd Rees gets to a knee, spending just a moment looking over the crowd with disdain. Shower of boos follows that. Rees pulls Mark Cage up, taking him down and driving an elbow into the man's inner thigh. Lloyd Rees really working from the playbook in this match, Mark Cage has barely been able to muster any offense!

Lloyd pulls Cage up and grabs a rear waistlock --- Good gravy! Lloyd Rees using a new move, driving his forehead into the back of Cage's head repeatedly. Cage drops low, holding the back of his head. Those Newfies, they're such hard-heads. Ol' Salty chortles from the outside, slapping the mat. Lloyd grabs Cage by the hair and pulls back, Cage bent over backwards as Lloyd talks trash to him. He hooks the inverted face lock... DDT. From the GREEN. Lloyd floats over, hooks the leg, one, two, th--- just barely a kick-out by Mark Cage. This time, Lloyd Rees isn't so pleased. He flashes three fingers at Dick Kiebiech, who flashes two fingers back. Rees snarls and flashes one finger - you know the one - back at Kiebiech. Kiebiech tells Rees to watch it --- ROLL-UP! MARK CAGE ROLLS UP LLOYD REES! ONE! TWO! Kick out! Mark Cage took advantage of a distracted Lloyd Rees and... oh, dear. The challenger's momentum shut right off by big forearm shots, Lloyd Rees... hoists Mark Cage up into the gorilla press! Great show of strength here... hold on! Mark Cage with a SPINNING DDT! What an unbelievable counter! Mark Cage shook out of the gorilla press and caught Lloyd with a Spinning DDT on the way down! The referee makes the count, and this crowd is trying to rally the rookie, they're trying to give him the momentum he needs to make a comeback...

Rees gets to his feet at the eight count, Mark Cage just behind him in the corner. Rees storms in, but eats a boot to the face for his troubles. Rees tries it again, eats one more boot to the face. Mark Cage skittles like a cat to the top rope! HIGH cross body block connects, lands into the pin, ONE! TWO! THREE----No! Lloyd Rees just BARELY got out of that one! Mark Cage on his knees, shaking his fists, trying to will that third wind into his body! Rees --- swingandamiss! Cage ducks it, wraps his arms around the champion's waist, and German Suplexes him down with a bridge! ONE! TWO! KICK-OUT! Crowd thought that was it! Both men back up again, Lloyd Rees boots Cage in the gut and hooks him for a suplex, that's blocked, Mark Cage gets his own suplex... NO! It's a BRAINBUSTER! He normally stalls at the top, but he just had enough to counter and put Rees down. And Lloyd Rees... is completely down! Mark Cage is dazed --- and then his vision clears, and he sees the top rope. He goes to it... he climbs! He prepares to jump, but here's Ol' Salty grabbing his ankle! Cage tries to kick him away, but those few seconds were all Lloyd Rees needed! Rees climbs the turnbuckles inside and cuts Cage's wind off with a shot to the solar plexus, hooks the facelock... NOT LIKE THIS! WABANA BUSTER! The brainbuster from the top rope pays Mark Cage off. Lloyd Rees looks out over the crowd, flashing a toothy arrogant grin, and makes the academic cover ---

A gasp goes out from the crowd as the lights in the Calgary hall go out. It's nothing but blackness and flash bulbs, there seems to be some commotion in the ring. Suddenly there's a shocked yell...
